GONZALES — Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Baton Rouge man Tuesday in a rash of vehicle burglaries last month in the Geismar area, Maj. Kevin Hanna said.
Tyree Davison, 18, was booked with 18 counts of simple vehicle burglary along with other related counts.
The thefts of wallets, a gun, electronics, loose change and sunglasses from unlocked vehicles happened in the Old Mill and Old Dutchtown subdivisions, Hanna said.
The break in the case came when detectives learned that Davison, who had been arrested in a neighboring jurisdiction on unrelated charges, was found to be in possession of the gun stolen from a vehicle in Ascension Parish, Hanna said.
Davison, 628 N. 19th St., Baton Rouge, was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail. Bail had not been set by Tuesday evening.
The other counts Davison was booked on are three counts of attempted simple vehicle burglary, 15 counts of criminal trespass, five counts of felony theft, seven counts of misdemeanor theft and one count of theft of a firearm, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
