A routine traffic stop Tuesday of a car with a headlight out led to the arrests of a mother and daughter after deputies found they had methamphetamine in the vehicle, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Tony Bacala said.

When deputies stopped the car in Prairieville, Terry Grosse, 54, and her daughter Christina Grosse, 33, both of 43264 Moody Dixon Road, lots 7 and 44, in Prairieville, seemed nervous, Bacala said in a news release.

In their car, deputies found a bottle of a prescription medicine used for anxiety along with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, Bacala said.

Each woman was booked into Ascension Parish Jail on counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a prescription or legend drug and possession of drug paraphernalia, Bacala said.
