The Gonzales Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a may whose body was found Saturday morning dumped on the side of a roadway in Gonzales.

The man’s remains were found about 8 a.m. on the south side of Edenborne Parkway, according to Charlotte Guedry, a police spokeswoman. She said the body appeared to have been dumped at that location.

Guedry said the case is being investigated as a homicide but would not provide further details Saturday evening, including how authorities suspect the man was killed.

The man appears to be in his mid- to late 50s, with salt and pepper hair, a goatee and tattoos on both his left and right biceps, Guedry said in a news release Saturday.

“We are asking that anyone who may have information as to this man’s identity or may have seen anything suspicious in that area, please contact Detective Sgt. Steven Nethken by calling (225) 647-9537,” Guedry said. She said information also can be provided to Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP or through the department’s anonymous tips form found at
