Assumption Parish deputies arrested a Pierre Part woman and two Mandeville men in a string of Belle River-area car burglaries, Sheriff Mike Waguespack said Friday in a news release.
Kayla Field, 20, 437 Belle River Road, Pierre Part; Ryan Perrault, 17, 2171 Rue Pickney, Mandeville; and Adrian Adels, 21, 680 Nancy St., Mandeville, also are wanted in connection with similar crimes in Mandeville, Waguespack said.
Waguespack said his office received several complaints in July from Belle River residents reporting several items, including two guns, stolen from their vehicles.
After an investigation led to the three, Waguespack said, his office contacted detectives in Mandeville to see if there were similar burglaries in that area.
Mandeville investigators said Adels had been arrested in the past for car burglaries in their area and Perrault was a suspect in other cases, Waguespack said.
Adels was arrested July 23 in St. Tammany Parish and booked with burglary and several traffic violations, the release states.
Assumption Parish Detective Capt. Darren Crochet interviewed Adels in Mandeville, where Adels admitted to the Belle River burglaries and implicated Perrault and Field, Waguespack said.
Waguespack said Field later confessed to her participation in the burglaries and to pawning some of the stolen items.
The guns and some other stolen goods were recovered after a search of a St. Tammany Parish hotel room, he said.
All three suspects were booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Friday on eight counts of simple burglary, Waguespack said. They also face prosecution on pending charges in St. Tammany Parish, he said.
No bonds had been set as of Friday, and the investigation is ongoing, the sheriff added.
