The reward for information leading to an arrest in a double homicide in Donaldsonville has increased by $20,000, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s detectives still are trying to determine who shot and killed Chad Nichols, 37, and Benny Booker, 29, on Jan. 26 in front of Nichols’ home on Latino Drive in Donaldsonville.
Investigators have said they suspect the shootings happened during a “drug deal gone bad.” They also have said they found heroin inside Nichols’ home.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000, the Sheriff’s Office is offering an additional $2,500 reward, and a “separate and independent” source is offering $20,000, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
