GONZALES — An employee of Domino’s Pizza in Donaldsonville and his cousin were arrested early Friday in connection with a burglary of the business, said Chief Tony Bacala with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Karnell Williams, 21, and Devin Herbert, 19, were detained shortly after midnight during a traffic stop by deputies with the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, who called the Ascension Parish’s Sheriff’s Office after learning the two might have been involved in a burglary at Domino’s, Bacala said.
Ascension deputies learned that Williams, an employee at the Domino’s Pizza at 37200 La. 3089, closed the business Thursday night but propped open the back door and returned with his cousin, Herbert, to take an undisclosed amount of money from the safe and cash registers, Bacala said.
Williams, of 138 Virginia St., Belle Rose, and Herbert, of 109 Virginia St., Belle Rose, were each booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on counts of simple burglary and felony theft.
The investigation is ongoing, and more charges may be pending, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
