NAPOLEONVILLE — A Labadieville teen said to have been playing with a .38-caliber revolver among friends at his home Dec. 19, is facing negligent homicide and other counts after the gun fired, mortally wounding a 17-year-old, Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack said Tuesday.
Jamal Starks, 18, was arrested Dec. 21 in the incident.
Dronald Washington, of Labadieville, who was shot in the head, was taken by helicopter to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge and was pronounced dead Dec. 22.
Starks, 117 Violet St., Labadieville, has been booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on counts of negligent homicide, negligent injuring and illegal use of a firearm, Waguespack said. Starks’ bail has been set at $125,000.
