DONALDSONVILLE — The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday it was investigating the theft of nearly $30,000 in lawn maintenance equipment stolen from the city of Donaldsonville.

A city supervisor reported Monday that a 7-foot-by-14-foot trailer, along with a John Deere tractor, attached rotary blade, five weed trimmers and an air compressor — valued at approximately $27,5000 — were missing from the city’s temporary barn on Thibaut Drive, Sheriff Jeff Wiley announced in a news release.

The supervisor reported that the front gate lock was missing and was possibly cut with bolt cutters.
