The students of the year for the St. John the Baptist Parish school district are 12th-grader Glasia Walker, of West St. John High School; eighth-grader Michael Reeves, of John L. Ory Communication Arts Magnet School, and sixth-grader Teryn Davis, of Lake Pontchartrain Elementary School.

Walker is active in 4-H, DECA, Beta Club, National Honor Society and the Superintendent’s Council and is a cheerleader. After graduating in May, she plans to attend Jackson State University to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering.

Reeves is involved in the STEM club, book club, Beta and Student Council and lists math and science as his favorite subjects. He also participates in drum line and choir.

Davis is a member of the Rotary Club at her school and loves English language arts and math. Outside school, she is involved in dance.
