NOLA CHRISTMASFEST: An indoor ice skating rink, two ice slides and scores of decorated Christmas trees will be among the attractions at NOLA Christmasfest, through Dec. 31 in Hall I at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, 900 Convention Center Blvd., New Orleans. CELEBRATION IN THE OAKS: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays to Thursdays, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, through Jan. 1, City Park, New Orleans. The 25-acre park becomes a winter wonderland with light displays throughout, including the Botanical Garden, Storyland and Carousel Gardens Amusement Park. CHRISTMAS VILLAGE: Kenner's annual holiday celebration moves this year to Kenner City Park, 3800 Loyola Drive, and gets an ice skating rink. There also will be a beer garden, Santa's workshop and nightly performances to area schools and other groups. Hours are 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 8 p.m. Sundays, through Dec. 30. CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK: The holiday light display at Lafreniere Park, 3000 Downs Blvd., Metairie, continues through Sunday. Hours are dusk to 9:35 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, and from dusk to 11:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The park sparkles with thousands of twinkling lights and displays. Admission is $5 per vehicle; the entrance is on West Napoleon Avenue access gate of the park. The children's carousel also is open nightly. Cost is $1 per child.
