SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE: The deadline is Nov. 25 to submit an application for one of seven $300 scholarships available to southeast Louisiana students at Texas A&M University for the spring semester. The Greater New Orleans Aggie Moms Club, which is the local chapter of the Federation of Texas A&M Mothers' Club, is awarding the scholarships. Students wishing to apply should email GNOMomsSecretary@aggienetwork.com, providing their name, university address and phone number, college attending and a short statement of scholarship qualifications.

UNO SCREENWRITING: The University of New Orleans has awarded the Joseph Patrick Uddo Scholarship in Screenwriting for the 2017-18 academic year to Daniel J. Green. The scholarship, which provides a total of $1,500 in tuition and fees for a full academic year, honors the memory of Uddo, a filmmaker and New Orleans native who died in 2008 at age 33. Green studied creative writing at Utah Valley University and is now pursuing a master’s degree in fine arts at UNO. A veteran of the video game industry, Green is familiar with animation, cinematography and lighting within that medium.

NUNEZ INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY: The Louisiana Chemical Association has awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Gennard Davis, of New Orleans, a student in the industrial technology program at Nunez Community College in Chalmette.

DELGADO UTILITY LINE WORKER TRAINING: Entergy New Orleans has donated $50,000 check to Delgado Community College to support the start of the Certified Line Worker Training Program, which was developed through a partnership between the Louisiana Energy Workforce Consortium and the Louisiana Community and Technical College System. Graduates of the 26-week evening studies program at Delgadowill obtain National Center for Construction Education and Research certification, be qualified for employment as a line helper and receive job-placement assistance.
