Motorists ticketed through Jefferson Parish’s discontinued red-light camera system can check the state Treasury Department’s unclaimed property program to see if they’re owed a refund.

Treasurer John Kennedy’s office said $1.3 million has not been claimed after the recent settlement of class action lawsuits over the ticketing program.

Most of the estimated 50,000 residents entitled to refunds will get $23.18. Their names have been loaded into a database.

Residents can search for missing money online at latreasury.com or call (888) 925-4127 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
