Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court Judge Ann Murry Keller was automatically re-elected Thursday when her lone opponent withdrew from the race.

Keller was the only one of the parish’s three Juvenile Court judges to draw an opponent in the Nov. 4 election when Jennifer Guillot Womble qualified to run for her seat.

Womble, an attorney specializing in juvenile law, congratulated Keller on her re-election.

“I know that both Judge Keller and myself have the dedication and the zeal to protect the children and members of our community in the years to come,” Womble said in a statement. “I know that together we can make a difference in the lives of the children and the community.”

First elected in 1987, Keller is the longest-serving of the three Juvenile Court judges.
