After severe weather and power outages forced its postponement Saturday, the awards ceremony for this year’s International Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo will be Thursday, Aug. 13, in Harvey, officials said.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the ceremony will start an hour later at Boomtown Casino, 4132 Peters Road.

The awards were supposed to be given out at the rodeo pavilion on La. 1 on the final day of the tournament, which ran from Thursday to Saturday this year. But bad weather made it too unsafe to hold the awards ceremony on Saturday night, the parish said.

This year was the 87th edition of the rodeo, making it the oldest competitive fishing event in the United States.
