The drop-off recycling site at North Kenner Park is still available for use despite a fire discovered in the container earlier this week, Kenner officials said Thursday.

Ramelli Waste, the city’s recycling contractor, has found a temporary replacement for the bin, which was damaged by a fire Monday night. The cause of the fire is unknown, though a police report has been filed.

Ramelli said the replacement container, located off 38th Street between Williams Boulevard and Martinique Avenue, will look different from the original and won’t be marked with a “City of Kenner” sticker. The original bin will be brought back when it is repaired.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact the Kenner Police Department at (504) 712-2222 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
