With half the prencincts in Kenner’s City Council District 2 reporting, former Kenner Police official Mike Sigur had a strong lead but not enough to stave off a run-off.

Sigur had tallied 543 votes, or 47.8 percent of the total as of 9 p.m.

He was followed by Bill Schwertz, with 28 percent of the vote, and Ronnie Yenni, a cousin of Mayor Mike Yenni, with 24 percent.
