A Marrero man received a 10-year prison sentence Monday after admitting to possessing pornography depicting children under the age of 13 as part of a plea agreement.
Sean A. Byers, 26, was arrested last August following a Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office investigation. Investigators said he shared with an undercover detective three videos depicting prepubescent girls engaged in sexual activities with adult males, according to an affidavit supporting his arrest.
After entering his plea Monday in front of 24th Judicial District Court Judge Lee Faulkner, Byers was told he would have to serve his punishment without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
He will also have to register as a sex offender for 25 years after his release, Jefferson Parish District Attorney Paul Connick’s office said.
