The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will hold a summer day camp for boys and girls ages 8 to 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 14-18.
Campers will participate in activities promoting outdoor skills and stewardship such as canoeing, boating, fishing, animal caretaking, hiking, birding, orientating and coastal restoration projects.
Camp activities will primarily take place at the headquarters complex for Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges in Lacombe. Each day will begin and end at this location. Other facilitated activities will take place on Big Branch National Wildlife Refuge.
Completed applications must be received by July 1. There is a $40 charge to cover camp supplies and wildlife materials.
Checks should be made payable to “Friends of Louisiana Wildlife Refuges” and must be sent with the application to Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges Complex, 61389 La. 434, Lacombe, LA 70445.
