A New Orleans man was arrested for carjacking a woman in Slidell last week, after law enforcement officers found that stolen car and three others behind two vacant houses in eastern New Orleans.
Perry Bridges, 18, is behind held in Orleans Parish Prison for possession of stolen property and being a fugitive from St. Tammany Parish, according to a news release from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Bridges has been identified as the man who pulled a gun last Tuesday on a Slidell woman who was waiting for her grandson outside a house on Pebble Beach Drive, the Sheriff’s Office said.
After forcing her to leave the car, he drove off in her 2007 Lexus G350 toward Eden Isles Boulevard, believed to be headed to the south shore.
Sheriff’s deputies found the stolen Lexus along with a Nissan Altima and a Lexus ES 330 that were taken during separate carjackings in New Orleans. A Chevrolet Cobalt that was reported stolen also out of New Orleans was also discovered.
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s detectives working with the New Orleans Police Department found Bridges Wednesday night in Orleans Parish.
When he is returned to St. Tammany Parish, he’ll be booked with carjacking, the Sheriff’s Office release said.
The New Orleans Police also took a 15-year-old and 16-year-old into custody for possession of stolen property. The 16-year-old also was booked with battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.
The three are suspects in a St. Bernard Parish carjacking as well.
