In St. Tammany Parish, there will be a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Mary, Queen of Peace Parish, 1501 W. Causeway Approach, Mandeville. There will be a consultative session for youth at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at Camp Abbey, 77002 KC Camp Road, Covington.

FOUR ORDAINED TO PRIESTHOOD: Archbishop Gregory Aymond recently ordained four new priests during an Ordination Mass held at St. Louis Cathedral. Ian Bozant, Charles Dussouy, Timothy Hedrick and Matthew Johnston are the newest priests of the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

The men in this year’s class of priests all grew up in the New Orleans area and all attended Catholic elementary school and high school. The NOLA priest class is younger than the national median age of 32, and two of the men are two of the youngest men to be ordained in the United States this year.

Two of the new priests are from home parishes in St. Tammany.

Bozant, age 25, was born in Chalmette. His home parish is Our Lady of Lourdes, Slidell. He is the son of Bruce and Dorine Bozant, and attended Our Lady of Prompt Succor Elementary School; Holy Cross High School (2005); Notre Dame High School, Sherman Oaks, California (2005); Villanova University (2008); entered St. Joseph’s Seminary College (2008); and Notre Dame Seminary (2010). He is assigned as the Parochial Vicar, Mary, Queen of Peace, Mandeville.

Johnston, 29, was born in Bakersfield, California. His home parish is Our Lady of the Lake, Mandeville. He is the son of Dwight and Mary Johnston and attended Our Lady of the Lake Elementary School; St. Paul’s High School (2003); Texas A&M University (2004); Louisiana Tech University (2006); St. Joseph Seminary College (2010); and Notre Dame Seminary. His first assignment is Parochial Vicar, St. Clement of Rome, Metairie.
