The St. Tammany Parish Library recently awarded the 2014 Part-Time and Full-Time Employee of the Year Awards and the Librarian of the Year award.

Erica Gottardi has worked at the Slidell Library for five years. She was nominated for the Part-Time Employee of the Year Award by a co-worker who praised her work ethic and positive attitude.

“Erica is always positive and upbeat. She is well read and often recommends books to staff and patrons. She is a hard worker. We love her!” were just some of the comments of recommendation.

The library’s Full-Time Employee of the Year winner, Samantha Brown, works at the Causeway Library in Mandeville. She was nominated for the award by one of her supervisors who said, “Samantha loves helping people and this quality shines through when she is working at the circulation desk. Her attitude is always positive and friendly and she loves to take on a challenging task.”

Librarian of the Year Nancy Little has worked at the library for 22 years. Little served as the Mandeville Library children’s librarian for 11 years before managing the branch for seven years. She has been the branch manager of the Slidell Library for the last three years.

Little was responsible for the Slidell Library’s transition during the recent renovation. She successfully moved her team and portions of the library collection to a temporary facility across the street where they provided service to Slidell for six months. Little then returned with her staff to the branch once the renovation was complete. Little’s management throughout the multiple transitions prompted one of her staff members to nominate her for the Librarian of the Year Award.

If you visit the Slidell or Causeway libraries, take a moment to congratulate these three award winners.
