A Folsom man was killed early Friday in Covington when the vehicle he was driving at a high rate of speed left the road and struck two trees, State Police said.
Lloyd Giddens was traveling northbound on La. 25 in a 2011 Infiniti M27 around 2:15 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, left the road and hit two large trees, police said. Giddens, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead on the scene by the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office. Impairment is suspected and toxicological samples were collected for analysis.
The crash remains under investigation.
