Justin Hutchinson, the 26-year-old Marrero man wanted in connection with a Christmas Eve shooting in Slidell that wounded a man, has been booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on a single count of attempted second degree murder.

Hutchinson turned himself in to authorities at the Slidell Police station around noon on Tuesday, a Sheriff’s spokesman said.

Detectives were searching for Hutchinson after he was in an argument with a 37-year-old Slidell man. During that fight, Hutchinson is accused of pulling out a small caliber pistol and fired twice, hitting the victim in the lower abdomen, the spokesman said.

Hutchinson is being held without bail.
