Each year, the Northlake Mandeville Rotary Club challenges the third-grade students at Chahta-Ima School in Lacombe to read books and submit book reports on the books they’ve chosen as a club project called the Rotary Reading Challenge. Rotarians host bimonthly pizza parties to distribute recognition certificates for most reports submitted during each nine-week period.

A final grand presentation awards ceremony rounds out the challenge in May where the children are recognized for their accomplishments with grand prizes and raffles. The reports are reviewed and tabulated by their teachers.
