LOVE YOUR COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Northshore Technical Community College will hold Love Your Community College events Feb. 8 at five campus locations. High school students and their families, business and industry partners, secondary school personnel, as well as interested community members can tour campuses and learn about NTCC programs. Campuses include:

  • STEM Campus: 65556 Centerpoint Blvd, Lacombe, (985) 545-1500. Open house from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. 
  • Hammond-area campus: 111 Pride Drive, Hammond, (985) 543-4120. High school tours from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with an after-school program tour for students in grades seven and eight from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. A community open house be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Connect to Success: 900-B W. University Ave, Hammond, (985) 549-5142. The Student Government Association will present a Lunch & Learn focusing on student success from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Sullivan Campus: 1710 Sullivan Drive, Bogalusa, (985) 732-6640.

UPPER IOWA UNIVERSITY: Six students from St. Tammany Parish are among those on the fall Dean's List at Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa. To be honored, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 GPA for the semester and be enrolled as a full-time student. The Dean's List honorees from St. Tammany Parish are Arnisha Ambrose, of Slidell, criminal justice major; Keisha Ferdinand, of Slidell, liberal arts major; Wesley Humbles, of Madisonville, criminal justice major; Myia' Hunt, of Slidell, sociology major; Ashley Powell, of Abita Springs, business administration major; and Sandra Price, of Slidell, liberal arts major.

NORWICH UNIVERSITY: Cody Isaiah Hubbard, of Madisonville, and Brice Ranson Lanier, of Mandeville, earned spots on the fall 2017 Dean's List at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont, the oldest private military college in the United States. 

PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE: John Clark Younger, a sophomore from Mandeville, has earned a spot on the fall 2017 Dean's List at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. The Dean’s List is comprised of students who have earned between a 3.3 and a 3.9 GPA.

OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY: Nathaniel Nelson, of Slidell, has earned a spot on the fall 2017 Dean's List at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4-point scale.
