A Slidell fireman's Ford F-250, FX4 truck was stolen Wednesday afternoon while the fireman responded to a call for service.

The truck is white with black running boards and chrome exhaust pipes.

A Slidell fireman who was responding to a call for service Wednesday afternoon returned to the fire station to find that his pickup truck had been stolen, Slidell Police spokesman Daniel Seuzeneau said in a news release.

The fireman told police that his truck was parked outside of St. Tammany Fire District #1, Station 13 at 101 Normandy Drive. The theft took place while the firefighters were respondeing to a call for service sometime between 12:50 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The stolen vehicle is a 2006 white Ford F-250, FX4 with black running boards and chrome exhaust pipes. The truck's license plate is professional firefighter's place, No. 3237. But Seuzeneau said thieves often remove license plates to avoid detection.
