Check It Out: St. Tammany Parish Library to feature ‘Alice in Wonderland’ performance _lowres

Photo provided by Hampstead Stage Company - Actors from the Hampstead Stage Company will present 'Alice in Wonderland' at the St. Tammany Parish Library.

Last week, the St. Tammany Parish Library’s summer reading program featured a puppeteer from Tennessee, and this week, actors from New Hampshire will bring “Alice in Wonderland” to life.

The pair of actors, from the Hampstead Stage Company, will be touring the country all summer. The theater company has been bringing traveling performances to children across the nation for over 30 years, but this will be its first visit to Louisiana.

The actors hope their performance of the magical and creative classic “Alice in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll will encourage children to use their imaginations and overcome their fears.

Families have two chances to see Alice and the White Rabbit on Thursday. They will perform at 10:30 a.m. at the Bush Branch Library, 81597 La. 41, and at 2:30 p.m. at the Folsom Branch Library, 82393 Railroad Ave. For more information, call the Bush Library at (985) 886-3588 or the Folsom Library at (985) 796-9728.
