A man is suspected of fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend in Lacombe before fleeing to a residence in Pearl River and killing himself Sunday evening, St. Tammany Parish authorities said.
A second man was arrested for his involvement in the crime, the Sheriff's Office said Monday.
A call came in around 11 p.m. Sunday from a woman concerned that her ex-boyfriend, who was under a protective order, was a passenger in a vehicle that followed her home, according to a STPSO news release.
Moments later, the report said, a second call came from the scene saying the woman had been shot. She was taken to a hospital, where she died.
Deputies soon found the vehicle in question and pursued it to a residence at 511 Garrett’s Prime Run, Pearl River, where the driver, identifed as Leslie Davis, was detained.
The passenger, identified as John Malveaux, 307 Drury Lane, Slidell, fled into the residence and shot himself, deputies said. He later was pronounced dead.
Davis, of 35387 Fleetwood Street, Slidell, was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on a count of principal to the commission of a crime - first-degree murder.
