Junior Girl Scout Julia Underwood, of Slidell Troop 30044, has earned the Girl Scout Bronze Award, the highest award a Junior Girl Scout can achieve. The award requires the completion of a series of leadership challenges and prepares the girl for her final take-action project.

When Underwood realized some kids at her school went hungry in the summer, she decided to have a food drive for her local food bank, canvassing the neighborhoods for donations. Her project adviser was Kari Spencer.
