A New Orleans man who pleaded guilty to robbing a Slidell man last April was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years in prison by 22nd Judicial District Judge Raymond Childress.
Brandon Domino, 25, was with an accomplice when he confronted a man at gunpoint near Coast Boulevard in Slidell, Lisa Page, spokeswoman for District Attorney Warren Montgomery said Friday. He stole the man’s cell phone, wallet and car.
Police spotted the stolen car at a Kenner gas station the day after the robbery, but Domino fled, leaving his girlfriend and two small children in the vehicle.
He was caught a month later while he was being treated at the University Hospital emergency room for a gunshot wound to the face.
He pleaded guilty to armed robbery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Page said.
Assistant District Attorney Joey Oubre prosecuted the case.
