St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s detectives are trying to return much of the loot recovered after they arrested a Slidell man and a juvenile for burglary more than a week ago.

The June 1 arrest of Gary Hansome, 21, and a 16-year-old juvenile resulted in the recovery of $12,000 worth of guns, GPS units, cameras, cell phones, jewelry and other items from nearly two dozen vehicle burglaries and a handful of home burglaries that began in February.

While some of the stolen items have been returned, much remains unclaimed. Detectives are asking anyone who thinks they may have been the victim of a burglary in the Kings Point area of Slidell to contact Det. Dwight Evans at (985) 726-7832 to see if any of their items are among those recovered.

Hansome was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on numerous counts of simple burglary, theft of a firearm and a drug count. The juvenile was booked into the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center on simple burglary, theft and possession of a stolen firearm counts.
