NURSING RESIDENCY: Nine registered nurses have recently completed the nursing residency program at St. Tammany Parish Hospital: Rachel Byrd, Ashley Frosch, Kim Gatlin, Alana Gerdes, Lacey Manning, Nina Sasso, Lauren Schell, Annie Simon and Ryan Vermilyea.

The 14-week nursing residency program was created in 2011 to offer recently graduated nurses the opportunity to build a solid professional foundation through mentoring in the area of skills development, clinical decision making and teamwork. Since its inception, 53 nurses have completed the program.
