Amy DiCarlo, principal of Little Oak Middle School in Slidell for the past nine years, has been promoted to supervisor of elementary education for St. Tammany Parish public schools. Her assistant principal at Little Oak, Kimberly Vanderklis, will replace her.

Superintendent Trey Folse announced those job changes among others at the St. Tammany Parish School Board meeting this week. The new school year will begin Aug. 7.

Brennan McCurley, who served as acting principal of Carolyn Park Middle School last year, will take over as principal of Salmen High School, a position he previously held at Lakeshore High School from 2009 to 2013 and at Slidell Junior High School from 2005 to 2009.

Folse also announced two new assistant principals: Larry Route at Covington High School, who was promoted from administrative assistant at that school, and Amy Barrow, who will be assistant principal at Folsom Junior High. She was formerly a science teacher at Fontainebleau Junior High.
