A Slidell man was sentenced to 40 years in prison Monday in a child pornography case before 22nd Judicial District Judge Allison Penzato.
David Michael Hall, 34, pleaded guilty to four counts of possession of child pornography and 20 counts of production of child pornography.
He decided to plead guilty as Assistant District Attorney Julie Knight and his lawyer were preparing to select a jury, according to Lisa Page, public information officer for District Attorney Warren Montgomery.
Penzato sentenced him to 20 years in prison for possession and 20 years for production, to run consecutively.
Hall was arrested for possession of child pornography on Nov. 27, 2012, when cyber crime investigators tracked child pornography to his house and seized two computers and a phone after executing a search warrant.
Officers then determined he was producing child pornography and arrested him on the additional charges on Feb. 12, 2014.
