A Pearl River man who pleaded guilty this week to molesting a juvenile younger than 13 was sentenced to 40 years in prison by 22nd Judicial District Judge August Hand.
Loren Wright, 35, molested a 12-year-old girl in October while the girl was visiting a friend, according to Lisa Page, a spokeswoman for District Attorney Warren Montgomery.
The girl was alone in her friend’s room when Wright entered, made inappropriate advances and then lay on top of the girl and began simulating sex, Page said. He stopped when he heard someone coming down the hall, Page said.
The victim sent a text message to her friend saying she wouldn’t come back to the house because of what happened. She also told her sister and mother, who called the police.
Wright had pleaded guilty to indecent behavior with juveniles in two previous cases, Page said.
Hand sentenced him to 40 years without benefit of parole, probation, suspension of sentence or reduced time for good conduct.
Assistant District Attorney Nick Noriea prosecuted the case.
