As the biggest event of the year for the New Orleans Bicycle Club, the Tour de Louisiane drew a host of talented riders from throughout the southeastern United States to St. Tammany Parish recently.
The three-part event began June 7 with a race of up to 80.5 miles (depending on category) in Stoney Point, near Franklinton in Washington Parish, and a 3-mile time trial on La. 1088 near Lakeshore High School, north of Mandeville.
On June 8, a criterium was held among the buildings of downtown Covington, beginning and ending near the Tammany Trace trailhead.
In all, six different races took place over the weekend of June 7.
