St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man who fired a shot at his girlfriend after the two argued, according to spokeswoman Suzanne Carboni.

Jermal “Bird” Randolph, 25, was booked Thursday on a count of attempted murder, Carboni said.

Deputies were called to a Shell station on La. 11 around 1 p.m. Thursday in response to a shooting. While on the way, deputies found the 19-year-old victim, who told them that she and Randolph had argued and that she had asked to be taken home, Carboni said.

Randolph refused and when he pulled into the gas station, the victim tried to get out of the car. Randolph then allegedly took out a handgun and fired it at the victim, Carboni said.

She ran into the gas station, where the clerk called 911. Randolph fled, but was found a few hours later near a relative’s home in Pearl River.
