The city of Slidell has issued a boil water advisory for parts of Breckenridge and Sterling Oaks subdivisions because of a loss in water pressure from a well pump failure.
Samples will be taken Monday and sent to the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals’ lab for analysis, spokesman Alex Carollo said. The results are expected by the end of the week.
Boil advisories are a standard precautionary measure when there’s a loss of water pressure in the system, Carollo said, and does not necessarily mean there is a problem.
Signs were placed in each subdivision earlier Monday and notices were handed out to residents.
