The 116 students in the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts Class of 2014 have received more than $17.4 million in scholarship offers from colleges and arts conservatories. This year, the arts conservatory has the highest per capita and total scholarship awards in its history.

Completing studies this year is Victoria Farmer, of Slidell. Farmer learned about NOCCA’s culinary arts program in sixth grade, when it was a three-week summer program offered at a satellite site.

Farmer chose to transfer high schools twice to ensure she could continue with her culinary studies at NOCCA. She will graduate from Louisiana Connections Academy and NOCCA, and has chosen to attend Nicholls State University, where she has been accepted to the John Folse Culinary Institute.
