Slidell police on Monday arrested a man believed to be responsible for a bank robbery earlier in the day, a Police Department spokesman said.

Around 2:30 p.m., police received a call about a robbery at Regions Bank at 1253 Gause Blvd., according to detective Daniel Seuzeneau. The suspect fled the scene in a black truck but was caught a short time later near Gause Boulevard and Interstate 10. He was taken into custody without incident, Seuzeneau said.

The man’s name has not been released, but police believe he was the only one responsible for the robbery. Seuzeneau said further details will be released Tuesday.
