A boil water advisory has been issued for several Slidell neighborhoods after a water main was punctured earlier today, according to the city’s Facebook page.

The advisory includes the Palm Lake and Camellia Drive areas, according to Tim Mathison, chief administrative officer for Slidell Mayor Freddy Drennan.

Samples of the water have been sent off for testing, and until those results come back, residents are encouraged to boil water for one minute before using for food preparation, bathing or brushing teeth.

Residents will be notified when the advisory is lifted.
