Incumbent St. Tammany Parish Assessor Louis Fitzmorris wond a second term, turning back attorney Chip Bankston to win with 52 percent of the vote.

Fitzmorris, who is in his first term, emerged from a large field in 2011 to get into a runoff with long-time incumbent Patricia Core, whom he ousted.

Fitzmorris, who was previously mayor of Abita Springs, said during the campaign that Schwarz had put his opponent in the race, an accusation that Bankston denied.
