A tribute to veterans of World War II will be presented at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Road, Slidell.
The state Department of the Military Order of the Purple Heart is hosting the event, part of an Around the World Wreath Tribute that began at the American National Cemetery in the Philippines and will cross Europe and the United States, ending at the National Cemetery of the Pacific in Hawaii.
Military, veteran, civilian and other organizations will be allowed to present a memorial wreath, and attendees can bring a framed photo of themselves or a family member in World War II uniform or homefront attire.
Nearly 70 WWII veterans are interred in the cemetery .
Holocaust survivor Ann Skorecki Levy will be the keynote speaker, and former state Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Lane Carson will read a proclamation.
The event is open to the public.
