A man wanted in an attempted murder case in Coushatta, La. was arrested early Wednesday morning after a 30-minute stand-off with Slidell police and U.S. Marshals.

Valere Frazier was arrested without incident at a home in the 1300 block of Westlawn Drive in Slidell.

He was wanted on multiple felony warrants from the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office, including two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and aggravated criminal damage.

He was also being sought for fleeing from a Slidell Police officer during a May 10 traffic stop and is wanted by the Louisiana State Police for insurance fraud.

Slidell Police Chief Randy Smith called the arrest an example of partnership between local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

Frazier, who is being held at the Slidell City Jail,will be extradited to Red River Parish.
