As of 4 p.m., it appeared that the I-10 twin spans between New Orleans and Slidell would remain closed overnight, according to a State Police spokesman.

Despite temperatures slightly above freezing, it appeared ice on the bridge would not melt enough for crews to re-open the bridge, said Trooper Greg Marchand, of Troop L.

State Police had turned their focus to reopening Interstate 12 between La. 1077 and Baton Rouge, which has been closed since Tuesday night, Marchand said.

Interstate 55 between Hammond and LaPlace remained closed. The north bound lanes of the Causeway were reopened just before 4:30 and would remain so until 6 p.m., when they will be closed in anticipation of freezing temperatures, according to General Manager Carlton Dufrechou.
