Slidell Police have arrested a man believed responsible for robbing two gas stations last Christmas.

Slidell Police arrested Don Barrington, 28, of Madisonville on April 13 for two counts of armed robbery.

On Dec. 25, 2017 Barrington entered an Exxon station at 888 Gause Boulevard in north Slidell and brandished a knife to the clerk, demanding money. Barrington retrieved an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled.

Approximately 50 minutes later, Barrington entered a Shell station at 183 Northshore Boulevard in west Slidell and demanded cash from the clerk there. Again, Barrington retrieved an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled the area.

Barrington was developed as a primary suspect after a Crimestoppers tip named him as the robber. Slidell Police also received information about Barrington from detectives at the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators were able to positively link Barrington to the robberies and secured warrants for his arrest.

Barrington is currently being held at the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
