Bad weather is forcing the Westbank Heritage Festival into the Alario Center this weekend.

Because of forecasts of heavy rain, the festival, now in its third year, will take place Saturday and Sunday inside the center, located at 2000 Segnette Blvd. in Westwego.

Arts, food and crafts vendors will be on hand, along with zydeco, jazz, blues, R&B, country, rap and gospel music, plus entertainment for children.

Performers will include Dru Hill and SWV.

The festival, put on by the New Growth Economic Development Association and Jefferson Parish Councilman Mark Spears, will run from noon to 9 p.m. each day. Admission is free; parking costs $5.
