Keston Mimmitt

A Jefferson Parish grand jury on Thursday indicted Keston Mimmitt Jr. on a charge of second-degree murder for the 2016 killing of Paige Fuentes and charged two previously unnamed accomplices with crimes stemming from a drug and prostitution ring Mimmitt allegedly ran in Jefferson and Orleans parishes.

The indictment, which follows the one handed up a week ago, names Anrielle Mimmett, 27, and Jamal Washington, 38, as members of the criminal enterprise and added them to some of the nine counts Keston Mimmitt was charged with Feb. 1.

Anrielle Mimmitt and Jamal Washington are now charged with racketeering, human trafficking and conspiracy to commit human trafficking.

Keston Mimmitt, 35, wasn’t charged with second degree murder when he was indicted on nine counts last week, but the murder of Fuentes, the mother of a Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s deputy, was listed among the acts committed in furtherance of his alleged criminal enterprise.

Fuentes, 54, was found strangled in her bed at her Metairie home in December 2016.

The other charges against Keston Mimmitt include rape and witness intimidation.

Second degree murder carries an automatic life sentence upon conviction; racketeering carries a maximum 50-year prison sentence.
