A man said he was lying down in his Mid-City home when he heard a noise outside.

The man, 25, reported that an unknown person then punched a hole through his door, fired a bullet into the home then fled. The incident occurred just after midnight in the 300 block of South Clark Street.

Several robberies were also reported throughout New Orleans during the overnight hours between Wednesday and Thursday. Below are details reported to New Orleans police. 

• A 26-year-old man said he had left Bourbon Street with two women just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday and went to a gas station in the 2300 block South Claiborne Avenue. He said when he emerged from the store after making a purchase, a man approached him and robbed him at gunpoint. 

• A man reportedly entered an Advance Auto Parts store location in the 2600 block of South Claiborne Avenue and made off with about $100 in tow kits. The cashier reportedly attempted to confront the man, who then pulled out a knife before fleeing the location. The robbery occurred at about 8:40 p.m.

• A 61-year-old woman said she was taking items out of her vehicle in the 1100 block of Henriette Delille in Treme about 11 p.m. when she was approached by three men. One grabbed her purse and fled northbound, she told police.
