A 10-year old student at Clearwood Junior High in St. Tammany was arrested Thursday morning in connection with two alleged incidents involving school shooting threats.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, the student was riding on a school bus in the morning and told another student to get his mother's gun and shoot people.
While investigating at the school, deputies also found out that student recently was walking in the hallway at school and allegedly loudly stated, "school shooting day, school shooting day," according to STPSO.
The student was booked into the Florida Parish Juvenile Detention Center for terrorizing.
The fifth and sixth St. Tammany Parish public school students this week were arrested Thursday for terrorizing.
“The safety of our schools and your children is of the utmost importance to us,” St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith said in a news release. “We will continue to work with our schools to investigate any and all threats on our schools and to the students who attend them. I am asking to parents to sit down with your children, regardless of how old or young, and explain to them the seriousness of making comments like these.”
